Working on a shadowbox for a friend's father...birthday is next week. He is an avid fly fisherman so of course it will be flies. I picked the Hendrickson as it is the first 'major' hatch here in Ohio on the Mad River. Figured I would post it so you guys can check it out ;)

Looks great. That is such a great idea. I've had an idea to do that for a while, but in the shadow box would almost be the enviroment stuck in time. Maybe a painting in the background of above water and under...still thinking it out.

yeah, this one is going to be pretty plain. I have done a few that were much more elaborate as far as the background. One of the really cool ones was a pencil sketch as if looking from above with a shadowy figure of a trout rising under a dry fly...pretty cool looking :wink:

Hey Mike...good to see you visiting CT(virtually)...check out artist Dann Jacobus' colored fish prints. They are great looking, reasonable and make an awesome shadow box presentation when you put a row of flies under the particular species you pick out.
