Hey Y' all

I am new to the board, just stumbled across it today. Love the site and the forum. I tip my hat to the sponsors and moderators. Keep up the great work. Lots of great information here.

I am originally from West Hartford and I have been held captive (by my wife) in South Carolina for the past 16 years. Some day I'll will get a chance to move back home. The older I get, the more I miss it. Still have family in CT and come back to visit.

I fished the TMA on the Farmington a year a go. It was great! Caught several huge browns, had a blast. It has come a long way with all the help from conservation groups and volunteers. You all have a real 'blue ribbon' fishery in your back yard! You all have done a great job! I look forward to coming up to fish this summer.

Down here I mostly fish in North Carolina. South Carolina has some trout streams but not many. I have to drive 2-3 hours each way to get to prime trout water. But the drive is worth it for the time of rest and relaxation. It reminds me of home.

Well, again great work on the site and forum.

Tight Lines,

Glad to see we can be here for you to feel at home......You'd better hurry up & move back.....I've never seen a northerner use "you all" so much....LOL....I fished a bunch of streams in the Blue Ridge Mountains a month or so ago......I had to go to NC to pick up a dog my crazy wife decided to adopt (ridgeback/bloodhound....funky mix).....Anyway, I had to fly down & drive back.....I drove home through the skyline/blueridge expressway & it's just loaded w/ great trout water and even better scenery if you're into photography......I have to go back there sometime & just camp for a week......My parents just retired & bought a house on the outskirts of Greensboro, so I'm looking forward to exploring that part of the country in the near future...

If you're in South Carolina then you're not far from great trout fishing. There are many, many places to go in Western NC which is only a short drive from anywhere in SC. I lived in Western NC for about 7 years and caught lots of trout although I wasn't fly fishing back then. I admit it, I was a bait fisherman, but I've changed my ways.

There is a top notch outfitter, Curtis Wright Outfitters, in a little town called Saluda, NC. Look them up and they can guide you in many places. Have fun and keep fishing!
