I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on guides for the Farmington?

Would be two people, one beginner and one complete novice.

I do a ~very~ little bit of guiding, but I'm going to be on vaycay for a week. PM me if you're still interested.

The two flyshops in the area, UpCountry and Classic & Custom, should be able to hook you up. I personally know many of the UpCountry guys, and they are friendly, knowledgeable, nice people.

I second or third or fourth Upcountry or Classic and Custom...

Some of the guides you can contact.... Marla Blair at Classic and Custom, who is supposed to be very good with beginners, especially kids and women... Jack Smola (Upcountry), Bert Darrow, Bob Kneeland, Pat Torrey at Upcountry is a nymph master.... Don Butler at Upcountry is a dry fly master....

Best of luck, let us know how your trip goes....

I dont know about any of these other guides, but one year ago today(my birthday 6/28), my wife booked me a guided fly fishing day with bert darrow. I always admired the fly fisherman on the esopus in NY or small streams around. After 15 years of slapin' panther martins on the water i can honestly say, my spinning rods are collecting dust. Bert spends the day or days fishing and thats it. He is a wealth of knowledge and well worth the money. Good luck.
