Has anyone ever fished here?

I will be going up there in mid sept visiting some friends in Halifax and heard that there is some good fishing there.

Thanks
Fred

Never been, but keep us posted - I'll be up there the first week in October.

My parents-in-law are current living it up here www.normaway.com

They're non-anglers, unfortunately, but rave about this place. Looks sublime.

The Margaree is a great salmon river, mostly known for the fall run. I have a pal that goes up each year for 2 weeks, the last week of Sept. and the first week of Oct. He has caught many fine salmon over the years, including some big boys over 20 lbs.

Unbeknownst to most folks is a run of Sea-run Brook trout that enters the river in May. These sea-run Brookies – Known as Salters in New England, average 3 lb. The run of Salters ends about the time of the first Salmon entering the river in early June.

My wife, Ainslie (yes, spelled the same way as the Cape Breton lake and town) and I stayed at the Noraway for our honeymoon; we had a magical time there. Of all the places we have stayed in Cape Breton the Noraway is our favorite. Dave, the owner runs a superb lodge. If you are up there in the summer don’t miss the Wednesday night barn daces at the Noraway, complete with some of the best live Celtic fiddling you will hear anywhere.

Another musical do-not-miss event is the Broad Cove Scottish Concert.
