I know if you drop a gun the barrels can become out of round......
well, I my reel took a tumble down my staircase  & even though it was in its' case...it is now out of round. It sticks at a certain point just enough to aggrevate you when I reel in. Has anyone had this experience & is there any remedy ?? I hope, Ihope, Ihope.

What kind of reel?
It sounds like the spindle may have bent. There are reel repairers out there depending on the damage.

Its a Redington AS 5/6....mid range reel but I just love it . Thats the problem,....would a repair cost as much as the reel & is it worth it ?

Can you determine what is bent? Is it the spool or spindle?
If it is the spool, you maybe able to buy a new one. Spindle, hmm, tough fix if at all.
Have you checked FleaBay for a similar reel? Might pick one up cheap there.

I would try to bend it yourself if I were you.... or stop by the store and I will look at it.

At worst you can send it back to Redington for warranty repair... the likely scenario is that they will replace it with a newer model.
