Land'em fast, use barbless hooks, wet hands, and get them back in the water as quick as possible. I believe that is still the best method for catch and release fishing.

Very interesting article. I've never thought much about scarring from being hooked and released. From now on I think I will try to be more gentle when removing the hook.
