Whoa, whoa, whoa.....what happened? I thought the cowboys were "The Team". Do we have a flip-flopper/bandwagon jumper here? LoL

I couldve told you that the Cowboys werent gonna make it, if I recall I made mention of this around week 7 or 8. Romo is overrated, and TO is a headcase. Its really too bad, there is a great deal of talent on that team they just dont know how to win when it counts. Giants look good right now in the NFC, but Favre and the pack are tough too. Should be interesting.

As for the Colts, I had a feeling they were going down too, too many injuries at the wrong time, coupled with the Chargers turnaround made an interesting outcome as well.

As much as alot of people dont want to admit it, the road to the superbowl is going to come down to who will play New England....They are pretty darn tough.

I say forget it, drink beer, tie flies and get ready for the fishing season...Theres always next year...

What a bandwagon frontrunner jumper-onner! Why root for The Borg, populated with such evil nasties as Belichick, Kraft, Harrison and Moss when you could have chosen a feel-good story like Favre and the Pack, or a total underdog like the Giants? You didn't even stay in your own conference.

I disappointed in you, son. ;-)

I agree Cowboys suck! My Giants pulled an upset. Always a nail biter with the Giants. I was yelling at the TV a bit. Too bad the secondary is crippled, Farve or Brady will pick them apart. I am just glad my Giants knocked the cowboys out.

A total lack of dicipline on the part of the Boys, that is bad coaching= Wade Phillips. Bad game plan second half,= Wade Phillips. Poor execution. My support go's to The Pack.

I'm originally from Philadelphia so I'm a die hard eagles fan. I don't know who I hate more the cowboys or the giants. On one hand I'm glad Dallas lost, but at the expense of the giants advancing?! barf hahaa

I always said I root for the Patriots as the "home team", as long as their not playing my Cowboys.... so I'm no flip flop bandwagon jumper... ;) :D The Cowboys are still my favorite team, but I'm highly disappointed in them, and in fact after watching the game I was genuinely angry..... they totally blew it in the second half..... they failed to execute on offense.

I cannot take anything away from their defense however, as they held the Giants on two consecutive possessions to 3 and out, and gave the offense the ball with good field position. But they again failed to execute, and failed to capitalize on those two opportunities. And just like when they played the Pats during the regular season, penalties hurt them very badly. They were terrible. After their best season in many, many years, I expected much more.

I cannot root for the Packers.... there is an old rivalry between the Packers and the 'Boys going back to the '67 NFL Championship "Ice Bowl". Screw Favre, and screw the pack....

And I cannot root for the Giants... a) they just knocked my Cowboys out of the playoffs, and b) they are a primary divisional rival.... again, there is a Cowboys/Giants rivalry that I cannot ignore.

The Patriots on the other hand, are not in any way, shape, form, or fashion, a direct rival of Dallas, and as I said, they are the "Home Team". So I can in good conscience, and while maintaining my integrity, root for the Pats from here on out.....

That's my story.... I'm stickin' to it.... :p ;) :D

But if you root for the Giants, and they win it all, you can say you lost to the Super Bowl champions. :-)

The Patriot

Not important....

In fact, we also lost to the Pats... so if I root for the Pats, and they win the Super Bowl, I can say we lost to the Super Bowl Champs.... and I can also say we lost to the only undefeated team, and the team with the all time best NFL record..... ;) :D

I just wanted to applaud your courage for choosing to root for the unbeaten glamour team. Not every one would have the guts to go out on a limb like that.

Hey..... y'all can BITE ME! ;) :D

I ALWAYS said I root for the Pats, cuz they're the home team, as long as they're not playin' my Cowboys! :D I rooted for the Pats for the last several years, when my Cowboys were not contenders.... :p

Uh.... we live in.... HELLO.... NEW ENGLAND! ;)

F the Giants!

Go PATS!

Signed,

A dyed in the wool Cowboys fan, whose second favorite team, was, is, and will remain the PATS.... A non- frontrunner-bandwagon-jumper-oner....

P.S. BITE ME! :p :D

Let me understand: when YOUR team wasn't doing well in the last several years, you started to root for the Pats (while they were coincidentally winning all those Super Bowls)...and you're not a frontrunner bandwagon jumper-oner?

Wait! I'll bet you were a HUGE Chicago Bulls fan in the 90's...

;-)

The Patriot
01-26-2008, 06:13 AM
Let me clarify, so you DO understand: When the Cowboys weren't doing well, I STILL rooted for them, but when it came to playoff time, and the Cowboys were absent, I ALWAYS rooted for the Pats, for one and only one simple reason.... THEY ARE MY HOME TEAM! Again, READING IS FUNDAMENTAL! :p

And that included years when the Pats weren't in the Super Bowl.

And I also rooted for the Pats, as the home team, even when they had losing seasons. As the HOME TEAM they have long been my second favorite.....

So once again... you ARE the WEAKEST LINK! GOODBYE!! :p

P.S. And NO.... I was not a Bulls fan... but I liked to watch Jordan... he was amazing!:D Not that I ever followed pro hoops that much, I liked the Lakers, the Celtics, and the Knicks.... in that order....

Well, well, well. Look who else is a Cowboys fan. I wonder if he's rooting for the Pats, too. ;)

Jeff, that is too freakin funny. I never laughed harder and I am a diehard Giants fan, always have been. Hitler was pretty right about Eli though, he is pretty shaky.

With that said, I have always hated the Cowboys with the same passion.

I just hope it is a good game and not a lopsided blowout like superbowls have a tendency of being.

The Patriot

Oh my god, that is the funniest s**t I've ever seen... :D I was dyin'! That is too much.... I can't believe it.... if I didn't know better Jeff, I would think you made that up just for me... and the stuff he says.... it was like someone was reading my mind!! :D That was exactly what I thought after the game.... :D

"The GIANTS? But, we went 13 and 3.... our best season in YEARS! Eli Manning? C'mon! That dam Jessica Simpson... Mexico.... Well, at least I can see the Pats go undefeated and win the Superbowl...."

Too much! It was like somebody got inside my head and then wrote that....

Holy crap.... :D

Yeah but guys have you noticed that being a Pats fan has become more of the latest fashion? Ask a Pats fan what team they liked before? I got on a guys nerve at a local diner when he was decked out in Pats gear, fancy leather logojacket the works.I asked him: Who did Bill succeed as head coach of the Pats? He was clueless. It's Pete Carroll!! I know this and I'm the BIGGEST Redskin fan on the planet!
The false fans have to go.

One thing that makes me wonder is why the Giants don't have cheerleaders?Hmmmm?

Rich Strolis

Those kind of fans crack me up, head to toe in garb just begging to be taunted. Its like that in every sport though, you have team that is successful a good amount of time and the bandwagoners jump on. Like I said before, I just hope the game is good.

Catch 22

1)Rich, I expect a good game. The Patriots have won their 3 SBs by 3 points each time, if I recall correctly. Since the earlier game between the two teams was decided by 3 points, it bodes well for the game. Of course, I'm hoping the Giants win by 3 this time.

2) Regarding the fair weather fans - I usually just take a look at their attire, and say, with as much sarcasm as I can muster (which is quite a bit), "Nice shirt/hat/jacket, is that new"? Sometimes, the sarcasm eludes them and sometimes it doesn't.

3) Jim, glad you enjoyed it. :)

Jeff

Jeff,
I love sarcasm and use it freely. It often makes me laugh how good sarcasm goes skidding off the heads of those that dont pick up on it. I would probably say the same thing. Espescially to all those Cowboy fans that are living here in New England......

Sorry Jim, had to throw that dig in there....

Been a Pat's fan for quite awhile. I remember the tough years.
I think we will be in for a great game on Sunday, the last team standing will win. Don't think it will be a blow out in either direction.
It's nice to see two teams that hate each other do battle.

Hey, I already told you, I came by my Cowboys' loyalty honestly, many years before you were even born there youngster... ;) :D

My dad is from East Texas, and I've been a Cowboys fan for as long as I can remember, going back as far as the late 1960's.... Steve can vouch for me on this one... I was a Cowboys fan (one of very few as I recall) back in elementary school..... :)
