This may interest those of you gentlemen who wish to read the classics of flyfishing but who can't afford to buy an original Halford or Skues:

The library of Connecticut College holds a treasure trove of classic Angling literature.
Its been 20 years at least since I've been there, but as I remember, the collection does not circulate, so you might have to go there to access the books. I used to work in Montville, so I was able to use the library frequently once upon a time.
Its like ripe fruit hanging off a tree if you jones out on Fishing Lit.

What, you have a copy of THE DRY FLY IN FAST WATER?

You may find yourself spending next Winter in a library..........

If your local library doesn't have a book, request that they get it for you by inter-library loan. I've gotten books from many CT libraries and even a few from out of state libraries.

Yep, Interlibrary Loan is a great service. Most books are obtainable if the catalogue reference is correct (sometimes the book is no longer in the library but its still in the catalogue).

You can't always get audiovisual materials like DVDs through interlibrary loan, some libraries don't participate. But if its close enough to you, you can go to the library yourself and check it out. Any library card works in all public libraries.

You can look up the catalogues of all libraries on the ICONN website.
