I just discovered some fly fishing podcasts (I had no idea they existed, and figured if they did, they'd be awful) from a guy named Zach Matthews, who has a website called The Itinerant Angler.
I've only listened to one so far, an interview with Lefty Kreh, but it was really entertaining. Rather than a bunch of podcasts of people catching fish (I can't imagine that would be interesting), he interviews people in interesting topics. For example, my next one will be an interview with Bruce Richards, who designs fly lines for Scientific Anglers. I also saw that at least one podcast is an interview with a cane rod maker.
If you're an NPR and documentary junkie like I am, you might want to check out his website and podcasts (which can also be found through iTunes)

AMS - I've heard that one - it's good (and indeed very NPR-esk). Lefty is very entertaining.

AMS, Itinerant Angler is great, and you should check out Zach's forum as well. If you get American Angler or browsed through MidCurrent, you've seen his writing. A few of the other fly fishing podcasts that I've really enjoyed are:
Ask About Fly Fishing: 2 guys (now one guy) interview various guests for a 1.5 hour long show. They have some good content, although some weeks their interview skills could use some polish, especially on the early episodes
Fly Fish Radio: They haven't had new episodes in some time, but the early episodes are terrific. They have some interviews with a fellow name Norm Albiston which have terrific trout fishing content.
Global Flyfisher: A Danish guy who basically does an audioblog, talking about a particular fly fishing topic while he fishes the coast of Denmark. It's in English. Some episodes are great, others get a bit monotonous.
Great stuff for long commutes. Do not, however, try to play fishing podcasts while driving with your wife to Vermont or on any other long trip. Don't ask me how I obtained this information.

I started listening to one episode of Global Fly Fisher (I fished in Denmark once, so I was curious). But, he was just lying in his bed, rambling about catch and release. I can think of better things to talk about in bed! I had to skip that podcast.

Great topic. Thanks for the link AMS, I will check it out. I did listen to one from Global Flyfisher and was bored quickly.
Trout Bums was doing a podcast while shooting on location in Mongolia. It was done over a phone.

On all of these podcasts, I've learned not to judge the podcast by the early episodes. All of these guys are amateurs, and they're learning as they go. Somewhere around episode 5 they seem to find their stride. Before that the show really depends on the guest, if there is one.

Just listened to the "Ask about fly fishing" podcast with Capt. John McMurray about bluefish in the Jamaica Bay area. Not bad. All in all, basic enough stuff, but still worth hearing. And I have a lot of respect for John because of his conservation efforts.
Itinerant Angler podcast with Bruce Richards, who designs lines for SA, was very interesting. Highly recommended.
