Hey now,
I'm going up to visit friends who are camping at Nickerson's on the Natchaug this Saturday. I have never fished it and would like to know what I should expect. Hatches, dries, nymphing? Anyone fish that area? If you don't want to openly disclose, please PM me with any advice you can. I would really appreciate it. I'm bringing my father-in-law and I want him to have a good time and get into some fish.

Thanks y'all...Whip

Are you talking the big pond at Nicerson State Park on Cape Cod?
If so, a little early for the Hexagenia hatch (think big flies) 7wt rod.
Still think heavy rod, big trout :D

My wife and I fished the Natchaug the past 2 weekends and did very well.It is heavily stocked and an easy river to fish, especially at Nickersons.Heard of 2 large breeders caught at the campground last week 1@12lbs and 1@ 10 lbs.with the 10 being released to bite again.Good luck and tight lines:)
