Has anyone had success on wooly bugger dropper rigs?

:D Chappy-- I often use a dropper with a wooly bugger. I use a beadhead wooly bugger leading at about 7 feet max. 5x tippet. then I put 2 feet of 6x off the gape(curve) of the hook. Then tie on a small nymph(usually a bh pheasant tail) or a smaller streamer such as a mickey finn. And then I put a weight halfway between the 2 flies. This works well for me, but what do I know. Good luck in your fishing.

Do you fish this on a dead drift or retrieve like a streamer?

Actually, I fish it both ways depending on conditions. With high water and fast current I'll swing it like a nymph. And in low water and slow current stripping usually works. But when I use a second streamer as a dropper I always strip it. This might not work for everyone, but it works for me. Of course, overall I have no idea what I'm doing, so don't go by my drivle.
