Hi All,

I have a half day today as my brother is getting married.....anyway luckily there is a small river right in town.

But with this rain today do you think it will be fishable/prducing?

Will the water color be off and/or more importantly will the fish be turned off?

I thought I remembered reading that barometric can shut down the fishing, but I have had luck during and after a rain storm. So what gives?

Any help/advice is appreciated. Eitherway I will probably get on the water as it is better than being at my desk or in the hotel pool.

I fished from 6-10am this morning. Some brief observations...

When a little rain was falling, fishing was good. When it was raining heavily, fishing was poor. When no rain was falling, the fishing was the best.

I say go for it, but don't forget your rain gear!!

(like I did :( )

When the water is off color and rising, streamers can be very productive. Get out and fish!

I got to the river but had parked on the wrong side of the street.

When I went to start the car it failed for the first time in 197k. It sounded like no starter moter...not a battery issue. It was the rehersal dinner for my brothers wedding which I could not miss I had to re think the situation.
So I went fishing for 10 mins. All I hooked was a rock.....the only good thing is that I know to throw out the old 4x that broke off way too quickly.

Anyway, went back to the car and she started right up.

And with the heat this weekend all other times avaialbe were less than ideal.

Last summer the Honda had an issue where it didn't like to start when it was hot out.
Stranded me while fishing a couple of times
Turned out to be the fuel pump relay

I fished Sunday after the rain... sink tip line and streamers, in a high, fast, turbid pool on the TMA.... it was a waste of time..... shoulda stayed home and saved my gas and my wife credits... now she's complaining about gas money.....

I won't repeat that mistake.... I scrubbed my plans to fish tonight, because if a storm comes up and blows me off the river, I will again have wasted gas money and more wife credits... it's a delicate balancing act.

I agree with Dudley's father too... the best time to fish is when you can... but when you "can" becomes a subjective matter, and everyone has to decide for themselves when they "can"..... I can tonight, but I "can't"..... better to save gas, time, and wife credits for a more attractive and less risky window....
