I've been too lazy..errr busy to tie flies.

Does anyone else go through a tying doldrum that just cripples your desire to tie any flies? I can't seem to get my act together to tie ANYTHING! Are there any tyers out there who experience similar gaps in production and if so, how do you get past such a funk?

I have a small agreement with myself to fish with whatever flies I have left in my boxes until they dwindle to a point where it would jeopardize my fishing time. Perhaps their abscence would motivate mt to sit down in front of a vise? Nah! Knowing me, I'd just go to Grady's and buy more. What a lazy...err BUSY ******* I am. :lol:

It happens to me, too. Especially after last-minute tying like a madman for Pulaski/Erie. Usually, I just wait until I feel the urge to tie again. If I'm cutting it close, I'll just tie up what I need for the next days' fishing.

I do occasionally get into a funk and slow down in my tying, but generally have an order or two waiting in the wings so I do not always have the luxury of just taking a few nights or a week off. I usually get into playin a first person shooter game on line, lately it has been Call of Duty, and play for an hour or so. That is usually enough to clear my mind and allow me to get back to my passion...creating stuff to fool fish :lol:

Fly tying funk. It's Hendrickson time and I have close to nothing...yet again. I'm blaming work for the this problem, and the fact I dropped the ball this winter doing nothing meaningfull that I can remember.
Maybe tomorrow I'll tie some Hendrickson patterns. I have had luck with a large soft hackle, made like a oversized Partridge and Orange using pink floss.
Anyone have something that they like for early spring?

( Quick and easy...just to get us going..lol)
