I can't wait. This cold weather needs to break.

add me to the list. I am never a fan of winter...this one seems to be lasting too long for my liking. Wood pile is getting low. Spent a few hours last night in front of the vise working on patterns for the spring. Wake up this morning and realize we are going to get more snow tomorrow...oh man.

I am beginning to agree. I used to love winter, even went to Syracuse University to experience some real deal winters. But now that all I think about is fly fishing it is starting to get to me. I just need a few days above freezing to tide me over.

This winter is still mild when compared to the winters of our youth. Remember the blizzard of 78? Now that was winter. The constant cold is tiresome though.

Brk Trt - I wonder where BRK TRT cooks because some of those meals he puts in his posts look pretty **** good.

No...but my mother remembers being pregnant with me during it and I hear about it every winter. :):)

I was in New Orleans for Super Bowl/Mardi Gras
that storm was the first time it had snowed there in 10 years

I remember the Blizzard of 1969, snow drifted so much that we could walk up our roof. I can remember my dad building us boys an igloo where he plowed the snow in the driveway.
Winter of 1973 was the legendary Ice Storm. Two weeks with no power. Ice about 6 inches coated everything in Wilton.
Then in 1978 I was working at Emery Air Freight as a teenager doing clerical work in their executive offices. I lived across the street from the office building and was the only person who could get in. Pretty funny, I told my mom I was a 16 year old CEO for a day.
I've always liked winter. Love fishing in winter as long as my guides don't ice up.
Hang in there guys, spring will be here soon.

I love fishing while it is snowing. The only time I have been out for trout since November was in the snow a couple of weeks ago. The problem is that this winter has seemed to have more straight days that far below freezing, with not too much sun, keeping everything frozen. It looks like next week may warm up a little so maybe it will thaw things enough to be able to cast.
"Fly(i)ce Fishing" doesn't sound like fun.
