Just wanted to pass on to those of you who remember Bob Kneeland, who used to tie with us in our early Royal Coachman days, that he passed away after a short illness on January 31, 2009. There will be a memorial gathering on February 4.
The obituary announcement from the New Haven Register follows:
KNEELAND ROBERT M. Robert M. Kneeland 64 of Sandisfield Massachuchetts and formerly of Bethany Hamden and Noank CT passed away on January 31 2009. He was born in Chicago Illinois the son of Peter and Barbara (Sanborn) Kneeland. Mr. Kneeland was an Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide. He guided on the Farmington River in Connecticut and had traveled worldwide to fly fish. He was an avid outdoorsman and tied flies professionally. He raised his family in Bethany CT. and was a plumbing contractor and an art and antiques dealer there. Mr. Kneeland had been a resident of Sandisfield Ma. for the last ten years. He is survived by a son Douglas Kneeland of Ivoryton CT daughters; Jennifer Kneeland of Wakefield RI and Kimberly Hirst of Westbrook Ct. one Grandson and four Granddaughters. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday February 4 2009 from 6-8pm at the Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home 34 Main Street Centerbrook CT. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trout Unlimited 1300 North 17th Street Suite 500 Arlington VA. 22209.
