So I was washing some dishes and I saw a bug, or what I thought was a bug next to my faucet. Turned out it was a piece of left over something that happened to look like a cross between a elk hair caddis and a baby grasshopper. Well....here you go. I bet it's been done before but here is my version, and a buggy something else in the same family.

Ha! That's what I was thinking. That fly is kind of creepy looking, but I like it! :)

What do you use for the legs?

That looks like something out of a 1950s horror movie. But it sure is buggy. I bet they'll catch fish.

I could be wrong but they look like pheasant tail fibers doubled up and knotted, then frayed at the ends for "feet". A few grasshopper patterns call for such a pair of legs.

Whip is right - mashed the ends with the flat side of my scissors.
