You land one of these beauties!!

Thought I would share this with you guys. This 30" beast was landed on the Gallatin River the other day. One of my son's buddies had a blast landing this with his "sweet" 5wt. As the story goes he thought he hooked the bottom!!

Don't we all wish we hooked bottom like this??!!

Then he realized that "it" was moving slowly. At first he thought it was a sucker but there aren't any of those on the Gallatin he went back to thinking he was stuck on a log or something.

His fishing buddy came up all excited telling him it was "the biggest fish I have ever seen" and at the same time the fight was on.

The net they had barely fit over his head.

Once on shore, Chad literally tackled the fish to keep it from going back in the water. He was determined to get some pics before letting him back into the river.

What an incredible creature! Thanks for posting. That there's snow all over the angler just adds a delightful gloss.

Man - that is the trout of a lifetime!

Please: the winning fly?

What a beautiful fish!
Looks like an epic day on the water, you just cant beat the rod clenched smirk and the snowy back drop.
Thanks for posting.

Chad's fly was something he puts together that he calls "The Kitchen Sink"

--some kind of streamer he came up with.
