I know most of you keep journals of your outings.

If you catch a special fish, or a certain fly has taken many fish and can no longer keep itself together, do you also place it in your journals?

That is a great idea. My goal for this season is to keep a better journal.
I was planning creating an electronic journal.

The only thing I include in my journal besides details and memories is the license from that year.

I once considered putting cigars bands in from that particular trip. ;-)

I often put photos in of special catches, maybe a game-card or two, and a few printed maps of places I'd otherwise forget. Actually I often forget to write up my trips, mostly because I write them here!

I wonder if we ( I mean Todd ) could set up some sort of journal template that we all could contribute to. Day, Time, Flow, Temps, Generic Location, etc etc. Imagine the data we would have in a few years if everyone contributed! If not, I could probably whip something up if people were interested in this sort of thing.....

Man that's a great idea. I'm not motivated/scientific-minded enough to bother with a journal, but I would probably contribute info online.

I agree it is a great idea. Perhaps limited to the larger known rivers to protect the smaller streams.

I think as long as you're not naming the stream, the template would work fine. Of course, all you have to do is put the temp, flies, etc in your report. That works too. And Todd doesn't have to do a template.
