Candlewood Valley Chapter, Trout Unlimited announces it’s second annual Youth Education Day
The Candlewood Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be teaching children about the sport of fly fishing, fly tying and stream ecology on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 at the Pratt Nature Center in New Milford, CT along the banks of the East Aspectuck River.
Newtown, CT, March 30, 2009: The Candlewood Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its second annual Youth Education Day on Saturday morning, May 2nd, 2009. The event will take place in New Milford at the Pratt Nature Center along the banks of the East Aspetuck River. The event is open to children ages 8-18 years and their parents.
During the event, volunteer members of the chapter, as well as friends from the community, will teach children the basics of fishing for trout with a fly rod, will explore the streambed to understand the food chain of this special habitat and will get to try their hand at tying a fly.
Parents and children must pre-register for the event. Those interested in finding out more details or registering for the event can visit the Candlewood Valley Trout Unlimited website at www.cvtu.org
