Flygirl,
I know it is kind of late but here is a simple pattern that I find works excellent. Size 24-26 dry fly hook. brown thread - tie in two short tails use either the brown thread or very light amount of mahogany dubbing use a dark gray CDC oiler puff for the wing and you are done. Pretty easy ot see and fish seem to take it as often as other patterns. You can use the same pattern for the spinners by splitting the puff in the middle witha few wraps of thread.
