My fishing partner and I both just purchased it. We have the same opinion. When you pick up the vest it feels like it weighs a ton. But when I
put it on it is the most comfortable vest I have ever had on. The pull on my shoulders is negledgable. The vest takes a little getting used to but that should not take long. It has room for anything you would want to take with you. The quality is top notch. The only problem I have is it is made in Vietnam. The LL Bean site has a nice picture of it. 2WT[/b]

I also just bought the Rapid river vest....I like the idea of the waistbelt support plus I put the water bladder in so I'm sure to have enough water . it does feel like it should be heavy but the weight is distributed. I had to break it in today so it will take some getting used to but I have no regrets about buying it.

flygirl, if yours is for you like mine is for me, it will only get better. My shoulders used to get tired even if the vest was not loaded. This vest has not made my shoulders feel bad at all. Greatest vest I have ever owned. 2WT

an ex bought me a william joseph vest for x mas. i thinki got kinda spoiled because it was the first vest i ever owned. and i love it. it has the two side pouches for flies, a pocket for the bladder for my camelpak, a pouch in the front, labeled, for all my tippets, and more pockets than you can shake a stick at.... what does that mean anyway?

More pockets means more stuff. I've gone the other direction. A fanny pack, make due with what you got. But each to his/her own.
