Does anyone know where I can get some bleached pheasant tail. This seems to be an item that has disappeared from the market. I need some for a Teeney nymph pattern which the Atlantics up on the Salmon River in NY seem to like.

Spike,

Have you thought about bleaching one yourself? Buy the lightest tail you can find, maybe ginger and then dunk it in a 20% bleach solution, let it dry in the sun. It’s worth a try.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I am having trouble finding ginger but I do have a recipe for bleaching which involves a non-sudsing amonia and hair bleach that you would get at a beauty supply house. I would much rather buy them than go through that process. Any iden where I can get ginger?

Try calling Upcountry, I think I saw some there the other day.
