I lost a great friend & fishing buddy this past weekend; fellow Fly Addict John Tracy. John was a retired high school teacher from Bristol. You may remember him as John T. John's posts were always well written and expressed his quick wit and sense of humor. John hasn't posted for a while, he hasn't fished in a while either. We haven't fished together for the last two seasons due to his illness, but he still loved to talk about fishing. John had a short time this summer where he felt well enough to try fishing his beloved Bone Yard. High water and fast flows prevented him from wetting a line during this short time. John loved the Farmington River and fished it for many years. I was very fortunate to spend time fishing with John getting a history lesson every time out about his beloved river. He was very generous, sharing his favorite spots and the knowledge gained from years spent on the water. I will miss him.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and fellow Fly Addict member. Sounds like a very nice man.
When I get to fish the Farmington someday this winter I'll pause a moment on the river's edge to remember him.

That's sad news indead. I'll echo Fisherman's sentiments on the loss of your friend. Perhaps we can resurface some of his threads as a remeberence of the man.

I am also very sorry for your loss.
Posts like this give me a greater appreciation for my time spent doing what I love along with doing it with someone I enjoy doing it with.

Those of you that went to Rich's nymph clinic last year might have met John.

Sorry for your loss, I remember John from that particular day, and he was a genuinely nice person who enjoyed the outdoors. Even though I only met him once, I gathered that he was probably a pleasure to be around. On the flipside of things, I am certain that he will be watching over his favorite pool from a better place paying a visit to those trout and waters that provided him with countless memories.
