Went out for the first time on the Farmington last night (moved to CT last year - just bought first rod). Know how to fly-fish but I would consider myself still a beginner. I was told that #22+ was what the fish were after, so I tied a 7x tippet on and gave it a go with my 5wt. 2 flies, a couple snarls, and half a tippet later, I became very frusterated. I'm used to 12-14 flies and 3-4x tippet. I realized quickly I need some guidance with my casting techniques. Any recommendations where I can get a full day's worth of lessons to sharpen my abilities?

Thanks!

Upcountry Sport Fishing
As far as using a #22 if you want to match the hatch sure, but, size it up a bit to 14 or 16 emerger and you'll also catch fish with a good drift. 5x-6x as well. I find knowing where they hide is half the battle. Under dead fall, currents around rocks, etc.
