I found this might be helpful to those looking for knots or how to tie them.

If you use one of those Tie-Fast Knot Tyer tools, here is the video on how to use it for tying nail knots and a couple others pretty easily.
The couple bucks I spent on this tool have saved me a lot of frustration when tying new leaders onto my fly line.

Klink - no loops for line to leader connections? I only use loops and love them - makes leader changes quick and easy...

I used to use loop to loop, but found they were breaking to often. I now just use the double surgeon. Funny that I used the double surgeon to tie my loop knots which I found weak....could have been bad tippet at the time.

I use loop-to-loop for connecting line to leader but NEVER for leader to tippet ('cept for 0X of course)
My buddy was fishing the Deerfield with me a few weeks ago and kept busting fish off - He was doing LTL connections with his tippet (double surgeons loop) and it was breaking very easily.
I tried this a few years back with leaders that terminated with 6 or 8 pound maxima and using LTL for tippet and found that they break very easily.
Irony is, I was also using dbl surg loop - I too use the dbl surgeons knot for tippet connection with no problem, but not so with the loops.
I only use loops with the heavy stuff now.

I used to use a sort of rock climbing rope knot my brother taught me years ago which worked quite well. I can't remember the name. I've been using nail knots for last couple years now and this tool allows me to tie one on quite quickly. Add a little Knot-sense goo to smooth it out and it flies right thru the guides and I've never had one separate yet.
