I haven't tried hoppers this summer on the Farmington. Use ants and beetles, but have not used hoppers since Montana. What experiences have others had with hoppers on the Farmy ?

Thanks

:D TonyM:

I've had success with a foam hopper since late July. If you go to the river with a hopper, ant, and beetle you need nothing else till October. Not to say nothing else will work. There are plenty of patterns that will catch fish. But you won't go home fishless with those 3 flies.
