Once again...this is Ken Abrames' classic mullet pattern, the September Night.
Soon, the mullet will be moving along the coastline and the stripers with them. I love this fly. I has been a consistent producer for me. I like to fish it on the swing, dead drift, or a greased-line swing. You can fish it any way that suits you.
This tie is 3.5" long, but you can tie it much longer if you like. (Trout anglers: this fly will also work tied small.)

Hook: Eagle Claw 253 size 1/0 to 3/0
Tail: Two strips silver flash over two white saddle hackles tied in flat over gray bucktail
Body: Silver mylar tubing
Throat: Long white bucktail tied as a 3/4 collar, both sides and bottom one hair thick
Collar: White marabou, folded or doubled three or four turns
Wing: One natural black saddle hackle over two strands of blue flash over 15 strands of purple bucktail over long white bucktail.
Tie it thick, as mullet have a fat (torpedo) cigar shape.
