October Caddis Pupa

October Caddis should be showing up soon, so I researched some old and new patterns in books and online. I combined what I liked about some different patterns and came up with this.

Hook – Scud size 12 -16
Thread – Rust Brown Danville 6/0
Bead – Gold Tungsten
Abdomen - Copper Wire Medium
Thorax – Rust Brown Hare’s Mask and Orange Ice Dub (80/20 blend)
Hackle – Partridge Dark Mottled off the shoulder

I’d like to get some recipes or see some pictures of your favorite flies for this hatch.

I found an October caddis on my front door last night when I got home from rehearsal. Nice lookin' fly!
