So based on the below-

I pieced a canoe dolly together in about an hour and a half with about $20 worth of doo dads.
10' pvc pipe
2 lawnmower wheelse
some nuts n bolts
yellow plastic-ey rope
Results below.
Refined the above plans a little.. Put the rope across the span to keep the supports from twisting under which they were doing while trying it out in the yard. Also popped a screw into each support arm through the T connect so the arms would stay put.
Everything is dry-fit for easy break-down and I think this will allow me to move our old monster 17' Starcraft aluminum canoe PLUS paddle, pfd, anchor (cinder block), from car to water at most locations in one trip.
It's not going to win any awards, but it seems to work. I consider that no small victory.
