Anybody got a favorite pattern, colors ?
I got some that are basically 'buggers, others with a spun deerhair head and marabou tail, some that are more like snake flies, maybe a few others.
Looking for magic

No magic, but the Orange Ruthless 2-3" has served me well, even when there are no worms about.
Thread: White
Platform: 30 hairs red or orange bucktail
Tail: 2 strips emerald green flash under a red saddle
Body: Soft, webby orange hackle palmered over gold braid
Give it a shot.

Big fan of Jack Gartside's patterns. He was a genius. The wiggle worm and gurgler have worked for me.

I like those suggestions.
Now that I think about it, a worm fly with a flat wing style tail will fish much more realistically than the marabou tails on most every one of my other patterns
Maybe I'll tie up a few flat-winged gurglers and try those

size: 1/0 (usually)
thread: black
tail:redish marabou, few strands of krystal flash
body: twitsed marabou left over from tail
rib: gold wire
head: black or peacock ice dub
this fly has performed well over the last few years. they don't last long but they have a lot of inherent movement and the fish seem to like them.
I do the same as above but with ostrich herl in red.
