New book by Henry Winkler about his fly fishing experiences.
Think I might check it out next time I'm in a book store.
Here's a Q. & A. he did about the new book-

I like his comment: "I find that any problem that I might have that's either perceived or real, when I get to the river, it's washed away."

A quick read akin to catching a tired stockie a week after opening day. Reads more like a script to a motivational speech instead of a fishing book. I get it Hank, you're determined, but the chronicles of the once a year Montana trip to get away from the oh so demanding NY/LA casting calls, screen play writing, producing, children's book stuff and the ever constant will to act on Broadway didn't cut it for me. Interesting from the point of view that I used to sit around watching the show with my family. Less third-person crap and at least 1, if not 10, anecdotes that involve Pinkie Tuscadero could have saved this one. In the hierarchical scale of bluegill, bass, trout, steelhead, salmon I give this one 1-1/2 bluegill.

Thanks for the review Tidal. Kinda what I figured.
Funny review that. The book title suggests he hasn't done much fishing.

I've heard similar reviews of the book elsewhere though none quite as humorous. I too question the sentiment in the title.

I, too, read the book. Before reading it, I had the same thought. But, after reading it, it appears he could be right. Most of us don't fly into a resort, with a couple of guides, and all the boats and equipment we need. What he sees is not at all what we see. Everything is taken care of for him. Basically, he doesn't come in contact with local rifraf. I think it is nice to see the world the way he does. In my humble opinion, although I wouldn't have read it if it wasn't a gift, it was kind of cute, and honest from his point of view.

What he cheerfully refers to as fishing barely rises to the skill level required to walk and chew gum at the same time.
