I have come by an edition of the Complete Angler from 1823, and wonder if anyone out there is familiar with the work and might know something about it. It's no James Prozack, but perhaps it might be, dare I say, worth a penny or two?

Serious inquiries only please :-)

somehow this appeared in my dream last night. in my dream it was worth $350 which is probably about the same as a cord of firewood these days.

As you know, I don't need any firewood, though I have less than I did in May.

one cannot help but wonder how many btu's that book would generate though.

Clearly not as much as a cord of wood. I'd trade it for a cord or two.

Leave it to Jon to test that hypothesis. Damn fool, he is.

Dang it Jonny, you missed your opportunity for fame. The Antiques Roadshow recently taped an episode in Hartford. What great TV it would have made for you to get an appraisal on-the-air for this edition as well as the highly collectible "Butt-Out".

I am in morning at the loss of this opportunity, Don. Such a film would surely have been another nugget for Chandler - see third nugget, http://troutunderground.com/2011/09/03/the-undergrounds-short-casts-for-2011-09-03/ - enabling the staff of TAC to sell more of their ****e.

How's the fishing?
