Great stuff. I have a local stream I have been "managing". No one fishes it.... at least this section. It needs some love and I have found that nature does its thing most of the time. Helping in some sections is also good.

Be really careful when you decide to put logs in the water. Some of these large-wood restoration projects end up causing ice jams and flooding large areas. You do not want to be liable a foot of water in someone's ill-placed home.
Brookies do love those log jams. If anything more logs will make you a more accurate caster. That has been my observation in the U.P. The imminent threat of losing gear has certainly increased my accuracy.
