Default Fairfield County striper fishing Getting Interesting

Went out to a spot I like two weeks ago fishing the outgoing and pulled in a 12 lb bluefish. Took me about 15 minutes to get him in. Sweet fight. I was shaking in my waders though because I had no shock tippet or anything more than a standard striper leader. Didn't snap me off though. Pretty lucky.

So, after that fun, I thought I'd try this afternoon's outgoing tide again. Nice overcast calm weather. Pulled in 15 schoolies between 16"-23". As a matter of fact, pulled in three within my first five casts. Haven't had that much fun striper fishing in a while. Chartreuse Clauser...no surprise. No blues in sight. And thankfully, no sea robins!!

Nice....Those blues are a treat to tangle with even if you're not targeting them.
