iPhone Fly
Last week I dropped my new iphone 3G in the Farmington River. It's become a very expensive paperweight so tonight I figured I'd get some use out of it. Seeing it was the river that took it from me, it's gonna at least catch me some fish.
Body - Lens cloth
legs - USB to motherboard connector
Head and wings - Touch screen to Motherboard connector
Second wing - Apple gasket/sticker
other various screws and parts.

I like your creativity. Sorry bout the Iphone though. I guess its pretty safe to say that may be one of the most expensive trout flies going....ha

I bough the GZ1 phone from Verizon, it's water proof and shock proof and yes it's swum the Farmington a few times.

Hehe, i thought that too, but I'd feel bad knowing i was throwing who knows what kind of strange substance into a river...even at that size it didn't seem right if it were to break off. I feel like it would be poluting and who knows what that would do to a fish's mouth.

Stealing from the river gods
I dropped my phone in the river twice last Friday evening after using it to take a pic of a bass I caught. The second time it shorted out the phone which usually means death. I took the battery out and set it on the bank and continued fishing, figureing there is nothing I can do at this point and I may as well fish.
However after taking the phone home, using a vacuum cleaner to suck the water out and then placing it in a bowl of rice for 2 days(the dry rice sucks the water out) it is as good as new.
*I read that you should never heat the phone with a hair dryer.
